The transport sector accounts for a quarter of energy CO₂ emissions, growing faster than other sectors. A change in transport is essential to limit warming to 1.5°C. The project supports governments to expand their commitment to the decarbonization of transport through international partnerships and exchange platforms, such as Transport and Climate Change Week.
An AI-based webtool (Transport Transformation Tracker) reports the status of the transition. In East Africa, a lighthouse project on paratransit is being prepared, spreading knowledge about the decarbonization of transport. In Latin America, a system is being established to promote electrification and the shift to public transport in ten countries.
