Ecosystem degradation is a growing threat to the Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, the UN proclaimed the Decade for Ecosystem Restoration (UN-Decade). The Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MFP) acts as the financial instrument of the Decade and fosters a global movement to support the three core objectives: (i) changing social norms and investments in restoration; (ii) create political will and reforms that establish incentives for restoration; (iii) build technical capabilities. Activities include global dialogues and partnerships, communication and awareness-raising, support for selected model programs, and monitoring the progress of restoration. The transversal insertion of restoration in the social and economic spheres aims to accelerate restoration initiatives around the world.
