In developing and emerging countries, there is a lack of resources for Renewable Energies (RE) and efficiency because banks and investors still know little about the technologies, overestimate risks and do not finance projects. The initiative offers a robust scholarship and capacity building program in all aspects of RE financing, with a focus on the “Green Energy Finance Specialist” accredited certification for bankers, investors, and project developers. To ensure knowledge transfer and retention in financial institutions, selected participants receive mentoring and train-the-trainer training, becoming internal references in their organizations.
