To reorient financial flows towards carbon neutrality, it is essential to adopt green fiscal and budgetary measures. The region’s ministries of finance and economy have been recognizing the importance of fiscal policy in tackling the climate crisis, but there is still room to increase its effectiveness. 

The project works with governments to promote transparency and efficiency in climate fiscal management by supporting the integration of climate targets into Nationally Contributed Determinadas (NDCs) and Long-Term Strategies (LTS). 

In addition, it strengthens the Regional Platform of Ministries of Finance and Climate, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and good practices. By improving the management of climate public spending, the project contributes to more resilient and low-emission economies across Latin America and the Caribbean.
