The state of Amapá is home to one of the most preserved portions of the Amazon Rainforest, where the local economy relies heavily on products such as açaí, Brazil nuts, and rubber. However, unsustainable economic practices increase the risks of forest degradation and vulnerability of local populations to climate change.
The project focuses on rural Amazonian schools, integrating climate change, forest conservation, and biodiversity into the school curriculum. It promotes sustainable management practices, encourages youth engagement with agriculture, and encourages the adoption of local solutions to climate challenges.
Activities include the development of teaching materials, teacher training and exchange between participating schools. By uniting education and sustainability, the initiative creates a lasting knowledge base and strengthens the ecological identity of Amazonian communities.
