The International Climate Initiative (IKI) in Brazil launches the “Companion Guide for Communities of Practice,” a publication developed to support the creation, strengthening, and sustainability of collaborative networks among projects, organizations, and professionals working on climate and sustainable development. The document was prepared by the Climate Change Policies Program (PoMuC), the project that represents the IKI Interface in Brazil, bringing together methodologies, lessons learned, and practical suggestions to support communities of practice throughout their journey.

More than a technical manual, the guide is presented as a “journey companion,” proposing an approach grounded in care, collaboration, psychological safety, and regenerative governance. The publication offers guidance on roles within communities, knowledge management, meeting facilitation, relationship building, conflict navigation, and maintaining collective engagement.

The material also includes examples of governance models, community development cycles, suggested rituals, and practical tools to strengthen collective learning and network-based cooperation processes. Topics covered include participant integration, dialogue facilitation, documentation of lessons learned, management of collaborative spaces, and strategies to ensure the longevity of initiatives.
