These photos capture the technical visit to the Urubu Branco Indigenous Territory as part of the selection process for the pilot territories of the Guardians of the Forest Project. The initial listening and engagement process was essential to align territorial protection and participatory monitoring strategies with the specific realities and needs of each Indigenous community.

Together with project partners, two pilot territories were selected: Xerente/Funil in Tocantins and Urubu Branco in Mato Grosso. The project supports the development of technical and organizational capacities, strengthens territorial monitoring processes, and promotes small socio-bioeconomic initiatives, contributing to territorial security, food security, and income generation within the territories. Promoting the participation of Indigenous women throughout these processes is a key pillar of the project.
