On May 19 and 20, the 9th IKI Brazil Meeting brought together implementing organizations of the International Climate Initiative (IKI), political partners, and representatives of the Brazilian and German governments in Brasília for two days of exchange, collective construction, and strengthening connections.

Under the theme “Networked Cooperation: Implementing in networks means transforming cooperation into impact”, this edition of the meeting reflected on ways to strengthen collaboration between projects, share lessons learned, and build common agendas capable of amplifying the impact of international cooperation in Brazil.

The programme included technical workshops, dialogues with representatives from Brazil’s Ministry of the Environment on the Climate Plan and its implementation pathways through 2035, as well as the creation of communities of practice across six strategic themes to strengthen a network of influence among IKI projects in Brazil. Participants also collectively developed a manifesto that translates the values, commitments, lessons learned, and impacts built throughout IKI’s work in Brazil.

Organized by the Climate Policy Programme (PoMuC II), the IKI interface in Brazil, the meeting reinforced the importance of networked action and international cooperation as key approaches to strengthening and advancing global climate action.
