The International Climate Initiative (IKI) is one of the German government’s main instruments for international climate action. In partnership with governments, civil society organizations, and the private sector, IKI supports ​​innovative solutions with local impact, and an emphasis on solutions for a just transition, and a global reach. 

IKI has been active in Brazil since 2008, supporting public policies, partnerships, and concrete solutions across four priority areas: climate change mitigation, adaptation to its impacts,  the protection of tropical forest, and biodiversity conservation.
